What is your power? In this blog, founder Moska Rauf, explains what this question actually means to her.

When you step into the world of Moska Rauf’s bridal couture, you’re not just seeing exquisite craftsmanship and luxurious fabrics—you’re stepping into a deeply personal narrative that weaves together resilience, transformation, and the power of memory. It began with a little girl, a cherished dress, and a journey that would define her life and her art.

In 2000, at just seven years old, Moska Rauf arrived in the Netherlands as a refugee from Afghanistan, holding onto the hands of her mother and sister. Among the few belongings they carried, was a small delicate dress. It was more than just a garment; it was a keepsake from a world left behind, a thread that connected her to her roots and childhood dreams. That dress, with it’s simple yet intricate details, became a symbol of hope and identity in a time of uncertainty and chaos.

“Everything I create comes from the memory of that little dress,” Moska reflects. “It was a piece of my past that I could hold onto, and it gave me strength to face an unknown future.”

Her debut collection, “With Other Eyes,” is a poignant tribute to that journey. It’s a visual narrative that captures the evolution of a girl who, against all odds, turned the remnants of her past into a thriving future. “Rebirth,” a standout piece in her collection, encapsulates this transformation. The design—an black quilted satin jacket adorned with crystals—symbolizes the moment Moska outgrew her childhood dress, leaving behind not just a piece of fabric but also a part of herself that no longer fit the woman she was becoming. It’s powerful, dark, and undeniably beautiful—a testament to the strength and resilience of women who, like Moska, have endured, survived, and emerged radiant and unbroken.

Moska’s work goes beyond traditional bridal couture. Each garment serves as both a shield and a statement—bold silhouettes and intricate embroidery become her version of a warrior’s armor, empowering the wearer to face whatever comes next.

In an industry often driven by trends, Moska’s work stands as a timeless reminder that fashion, at its best, is deeply personal and profoundly powerful.

Moska’s story is one of turning hardship into inspiration, transforming the darkest moments into something exquisite. As she continues to break barriers, she asks each of us to consider: What is your power? Because in her world, every thread and every seam is a testament to the incredible strength that lies within us all.
